Why UKAS matters

The same word — "BS 7976-2" — means very different things on different reports.

Most websites advertising retail slip testing use the same standard we do. The crucial difference is whether the laboratory producing the report is UKAS-accredited. After an incident, only one of those reports holds up in court.

Methodology

A four-stage process. Traceable end to end.

Every retail survey we deliver is auditable from initial scoping to the final UKAS-endorsed report. No subcontractors, no anonymous testers.

01

Scoping

Floor plans annotated, contaminant assumptions agreed in writing with your retail estates or risk lead.

02

On-site testing

BS 7976-2 pendulum testing in dry and wet (contaminated) conditions. Surface roughness measured where appropriate.

03

UKAS report

Within five working days. PTV results, surface roughness, slip risk classifications, photographic plates, plan-marked locations.

04

Recommendations

Where corrective action is needed, options set out impartially. We do not sell flooring or anti-slip treatments.
